This year has been quite a journey. New projects, closer relationships with clients who have trusted me for a long time, enriching collaborations, encounters with inspiring people… and, above all, a lot of learning.
And this is just the beginning.
Over the past months, I’ve had the opportunity to share, learn, discover, and reflect extensively on marketing and digital communication.
After much consideration, I decided to write this post.
This won’t be a generic article about “marketing trends in 2026” It’s based on months of observations, the projects I’ve been working on, and real conversations with clients.
All of this has led me to a clear conclusion: from my perspective, these are five particularly relevant trends in marketing and digital communication for 2026:
1. Blogs are making a strong comeback for AEO
The rise of social media has driven increasingly fast content consumption. Until recently, a simple Google search—using a couple of well-chosen keywords—would get us exactly what we needed: fast, simple, and frictionless. This worked both for users and for search engine crawlers.
However, with the emergence of AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), this scenario has evolved significantly. Today, appearing in search engines and AI-powered answer platforms requires more than just repeating one or two keywords. It’s essential to provide well-structured, in-depth content that generative AI can easily interpret.
This is where the “abandoned” blogs come back into play.
A blog isn’t just a window to better understand a business; it’s a strategic tool to rank in increasingly saturated search environments. Looking ahead to 2026, well-managed blogs will become one of the foundational pillars of AEO.
2. Design consolidates as one of the most important marketing tools
When I talk about design, I don’t just mean having a beautiful website or eye-catching visuals. I mean much more.
Nowadays, practically anyone can create a website in minutes thanks to artificial intelligence. But the key question is: can everyone create something truly differentiating?
Web design, prototyping, blog structure, a logo with personality, or a coherent visual identity aren’t just aesthetic elements—they are strategic assets. When everyone moves in the same direction—toward automation and AI—the real differentiation comes from how these tools are used and the judgment behind them.
By 2026, building a brand that is personal, coherent, and recognizable across all touchpoints will be a clear competitive advantage.
3. AI-Generated video ads are improving every day
Everyone is talking about Sora and the possibilities AI-generated video offers. Recently, in the Google Ads ecosystem, Nano Banana has been mentioned as an intelligent editing system designed to create, edit, and transform images with impressive consistency.
But here’s the really important point: the tool itself is not the differentiator. The key is your ability to use these technologies to build your own narrative.
Creativity in digital advertising is moving at high speed, and in 2026 we’ll see increasingly sophisticated, personalized, and visually striking campaigns.
Understanding users—their needs and expectations—and translating that knowledge into ads with a unique identity will be what truly makes a difference.
4. Quality Content: More Essential Than Ever
In the era of generative AI, where anyone can produce texts in seconds, the clear trend for 2026 is creating high-quality content.
Content that is:
sincere
personal
engaging
backed by a real story
Users want to identify with what they read and feel that there’s a human voice on the other side. It seems simple, but this is probably one of the most challenging trends to implement. It requires reflection, coherence, and a clear strategy.
5. Bots yes, but intelligent bots
The implementation of AI-based bots to automate tasks is booming, especially in medium and large companies. Their goal is clear: free up teams from repetitive tasks so they can focus on higher-value work.
Many organizations already use these bots for written communication support and increasingly for oral interactions with clients and users. But the key question is: will any bot do?
Users want fast responses—but they also want real, useful answers. That’s why, in 2026, we’ll see greater investment in personalized bots, well-trained and aligned with the brand identity, capable of responding concisely, naturally, and relevantly.
In conclusion
I’m sure that in your day-to-day work, you’re noticing trends that will not only continue but intensify in 2026.
These are the ones I’ve observed most frequently from my experience as a freelancer working on different projects and sectors.
